EYESHOT AU DITY

I literally did this in one day- help.

So yeah, I tried out the gosh-dang challenge and honestly?

Quite happy with how it came out! It was very interesting and actually very fun working on a piece with a monochrome pink palette!

Gosh, I haven't gotten to use my REAL lineless style (I use it for stickers but I haven't done any stickers in forever) where all the cel shading is real harsh and as it says in the title: no outline.

Lately, I've been more focused on lighting and texture in my digital works and just making everything 'softer' and more 'realistic' but dang, I forgot how much I missed just using my harsh and more cartoony style.

But because it looked good, here's the one with some light:

I am very happy especially since I do believe there is some improvement in the style.

(In that it doesn't look as amateur as when I first started out. But I think that's mostly cause I used monochrome here)

Does anyone else get that struggle? Feeling like you're not advancing then keep pushing yourself to change and improve but also really missing the original style?

summary: you and Chris were friends with benefits but stopped talking after rumors were spread around the internet of him dating someone. You were both invited to Tara Yummy’s 1 mil party and end up seeing each other.

the room is filled with loud music and flashing lights. Tara Yummy stickers are seen everywhere and the smell of liquor filled the place. my head was throbbing from the amount of drinks i chugged after playing a fun game of beer pong with influencers i’ve never met before. everyone was sweating from the massive heat filling the room. i sat on the couch talking to Larray as he was fanning me. “Chris keeps staring at you.” Larray blurts out. “Is he actually?” I question. I turn my head after a couple seconds to not make anything obvious and meet eyes with him.

Me and Chris met through mutual friends about 3 years ago and things started to escalate. We became friends with benefits but we kept it private. No one knew about us except for people we were close with. But one day, photos were spreading around the internet of him with another girl at a party. We both decided it was best to stop what we had going on before one of us got hurt. We stayed following each other on social’s so no one suspected anything and occasionally talked, but deep down it did hurt. I turn back around still feeling his eyes on me. “I’m not surprised, he’s been liking my posts non stop recently.” It was true, you’ve caught Chris stalking your socials ever since what had happened and favoriting some of your TikToks. “I think you should talk to him.” Larray suggests. I think about it for a moment and make my way over.

“I didn’t know you’d be here.” He jokes knowing me and Tara are best friends. “I can say the same about you.” I smile. “Just supporting a friend.” I nod. The music grew louder and it became harder to hear each other. He gently grabbed my hand and led me to a hallway that was more quiet. We definitely got in the background of some photos which is terrifying to think about. We didn’t say anything for a hot minute until he spoke up.

“You look really good.” He says while continuing to stare at me like he was star struck. “Thank you.” I smile. If I had to be honest, I was going insane inside but I was trying my best to act mysterious and calm. “Hey guys come get in the photo!” A voice behind us yelled. We turned in sync and saw Nick desperately waving at us. We head over and get in the photo with Jake beside us. “People are gonna think we replaced Matt.” Nick laughed. “Where even is Matt?” I question not seeing the guy anywhere. “He supposedly had better plans.” Chris responded. Nick and Jake walked away after the photos developed leaving me and Chris alone once again.

I couldn’t help but notice how good he looked. He was in a all black fit which was driving me insane and his hair was a bit messy but it still somehow looked good. He looked down at me and smirked. I’m guessing he caught me staring. I can feel the tension between us getting more intense. No one else was in the photo booth and the music was echoing behind us. I suddenly felt a pair of hands go around my waist. “Is this okay?” He politely asked and I nod. I look up meeting his eyes and he slowly leaned in not wanting to rush anything. “I’ve been thinking about you a lot recently.” He got closer. “I’ve been thinking about you too.” I whisper. Our lips meet and his hand travels down to my ass giving it a squeeze. I gasp and he took the opportunity to take control. The kiss became more heated until we both couldn’t handle it. After pulling apart, we were both out of breath and messy. He gently pulled away after catching his breath. “I’ve missed you, so so much.” Our bodies were still touching. “I’ve missed you too Chris.” I smile. “You’re the one I want to be seeing, not anyone else.” I couldn’t help but smile more.

So does eddie ever realize that Steve's moment of "maybe I should retire" was based around the fact that he was getting death threat letters? Or is he just too excited by the prospect that he just focuses on how much fun it would be to have Steve w him all the time?

He does eventually make the connection, but it takes time.

Steve mentioned retiring before Eddie had any inkling of the letters so it’s not an obvious connection for him. Especially because Steve still talked about retiring after Eddie found out.

He’s clouded by the possibility of having it all.

Eddie loves touring. He loves every aspect of it and he loves the possibility of being able to do whatever they want whenever they want. The best times of Eddie’s life were when Steve joined Corroded Coffin on the road, and like. Eddie gets it.

Steve was meant to be a teacher. He’s good at his job and he loves it, and the world is better off because Steve was a teacher. Eddie knows that.

It’s just… it’s just that they got together and then Corroded Coffin went from playing to five drunks at The Hideout to an opening act to headlining their own tours so fast. In those early days, Steve had all these health issues that they were learning to live with and then was in school, and then was working.

And yeah, he would spend the summer on the road with the band but then it was half the summer because he had to work to pay for school or because he was teaching summer school, and then it was even less. Then it was not at all.

The idea that Eddie could have it all made him blind to what – upon reflection – was so obvious.

Eddie would make a joke about how Steve won’t be blowing him off to write lesson plans next year and miss the way that Steve would cringe. He’d point out that Steve didn’t need to buy the funny encouragement stickers at the store because this was his last year teaching and then miss the hollowness in Steve’s voice when he says, “Yeah, I guess.”

It’s not until one day when Dustin’s over. They’re planning to play some new video game that he bought and Eddie’s trying to figure out how to connect his PS5 to the tv in his studio when Dustin asks, “Is Steve okay? Like, no bad test results or anything?”

“He’s fine,” Eddie says and then after a beat, “Why? Did he say something to you?”

“No, but you always bug him until he sets this shit up for you,” Dustin points out. “And I know that he’s in bed right now. At 5 o’clock in the afternoon. On a Saturday.”

“Yeah, thanks for that, Captain Obvious,” He replies sarcastically, waving some cords at him until Dustin takes them and plugs them in the back of the tv. “He has a headache.”

“Okayyyy, so he’s been having a lot of headaches then?” Dustin asked, matching the sarcasm in Eddie’s voice. “I’ve been here a lot since the – you know, death threats. He is either in bed or laying on the couch. I haven’t seen him exercise in-“

“He’s working on that,” Eddie says. “Would you go on a run when someone knows where you live and threatened to beat you to death? Nope. He’s just… working through it. Processing and shit. He has a therapist.”

“I thought that was for his mom?”

“A therapist can have more than one purpose.”

“I’m just saying, he seems depressed,” Dustin says after a bit, completely unwilling to let it go. “He barely hangs out with Robin, he didn’t come to D&D last week, and you were literally just complaining that Steve hasn’t been – gross – in the mood lately. It seems like he’s really checked out and he only gets like that when something is wrong.”

“He’s got that make up MRI coming up,” Eddie replies, but it feels like he’s reaching. His mind is slotting together how many times they’ve eaten pizza this month or how many times he’s woken up before Steve. Last weekend, they watched Star Trek: The Next Generation and Steve didn’t even complain. “I’m sure that’s it.”

Eddie confronts Steve in the morning.

They’re eating cereal at the kitchen table and Eddie watches as Steve picks the marshmallows out of his Luck Charms before asking bluntly, “Are you dying?”

A little too bluntly because Steve startles like he’s been shocked, “What?”

“So, that’s a no?” Eddie asks, and then to Steve’s bewildered look, “Dustin’s worried that you’re dying. He says you’re acting weird, and you are. I can’t trust that you’ll tell me things anymore so… So, I’m asking, and I will take your word that you’re not going to lie directly to my face. Are you dying?”

“No,” Steve says. “No, I – Ed, I’d never keep something like that from you.”

“Then what’s wrong?”

“Nothing.”

“But you ARE acting weird,” Eddie insists. “I know that the letters were a lot and they were scary, and it’s completely normal to not be okay about it, but this seems like it’s something else. You’re not doing any of your normal Steve stuff so… what’s going on?”

“I don’t – Eddie, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Okay,” He says. “You don’t have to tell me.”

“Don’t do that,” Steve tells him. “Don’t say it like you think I’m lying to you. I’m not. I – I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about the letter. I didn’t know what to do, so stop… Stop treating me like you can’t trust me.”

“You’re hiding something, Steve! How can-“

“Do you know what I’m giving up?” Steve snaps, somewhere between sad and angry. He drops his spoon and pushes away from the table. “I would give up the world for you, Eddie, and I – I am! If you can’t trust me then what are we doing? I don’t want to be in my parents relationship and that’s what it feels like. I feel like I’m giving everything up so I can be here and you’re still unhappy.”

“I’m not unhappy, Steve, I’m – I’m confused! I don’t know what’s going on. What are you giving up?”

“It doesn’t matter.”

“It matters to me!” Eddie exclaims, tugging on his hair before getting up and following Steve. They’re standing in front of the kitchen sink when Eddie says, “I want to understand. What’s going-“

“I don’t want to stop teaching.”

Eddie stops, and it’s like every conversation they’ve had for the last month slots into place with brand new context and he’s – god, he’s an idiot. “Steve, baby. You don��t have to.”

“Yes, I do,” He says and he tries to smile like everything is fine. “We’re going to travel and it’s going to be really fun. It’s just hard right now.”

“I didn’t – god, Steve. I’m sorry if I pressured you into thinking that you – we travel during the summer and on spring break, and we go on dates on the weekend, and that’s enough for me, babe. I don’t need you to give up anything for me.”

“I want to.”

Eddie takes a breath and he squeezes Steve’s hand, “Would you ever make me stop playing guitar? Would you ever let me break up the band and stop making music so we could spend time together?”

“It’s different, Eddie.”

“No, it’s not,” He tells him. “It’s your life and it’s your passion, and I’m a really shitty husband if I take that from you.”

What are your thoughts on transformers prime and transformers one?

TL:DR I liked both! TFP was my first Transformers show that I watched all the way through and TF1 was a lot of fun! Opinions on Starscream under the break pfpfpfpfpfpf

Prime was literally my first Transformers experience (Okay that's not true, I did see the first Bay movie when it came out but lets not talk about that). It's really good! My favorite character was Ratchet, I loved that he's just a tired, grumpy, racist old man and he's a doctor. Knock Out was the best thing to come out of TFP and he really should be in more stuff. Really would have loved a fourth season but it wouldn't have been the same without the children around. I liked what we got!

Prime has an excellent Starscream, Steve Blume does an amazing performance with both his deep conniving gravel and his high pitched terrified sputtering. So much character in his animation too, especially in later seasons, and an incredibly compelling character arc. Prime Starscream is not a good person, but I would burn the world for him, and I like the small moments in the show that hint at something in his character that could be turned to good, but circumstance always works against him in that regard. He's just so pathetic, but also competent and dangerous, all the best qualities of a Starscream and a very unique design!

Transformers One was quite good, I was worried because of the trailers but I was surprised by how well executed it all was. None of the characters were annoying, and making Optimus Prime originally one of the oppressed class alongside Megatron was a good move. The scene where Orion gives Dee the sticker is so cute, I simply cannot. The ending felt a bit rushed but what can you do, it wasnt so bad that it's a problem for me.

I would have loved just a little more Starscream in the movie! Like, I knew he wasn't really gonna be in the movie much so i was prepared for it to be little more than a glorified cameo, but I loved a lot of what we did get and I feel like it was missing just a little bit more! Like, the whole High Guard turned rogue backstory he has is great, implies some honor to his character since he didnt keep serving Sentinal when the guy turned Cybertron over to the Quintissance. I think it's hilarious that Starscream is so much older than Megatron. Like, they gave us a lot of food to make headcanons out of, but then the rushed ending kind of left me with no real reason given for him and the rest of the High Guard to go with Megatron without a fight. Like, I think the reason given was that, because Megatron beat him up that one time, and then killed Sentinal, and since the High Guard became a might makes right society and hates Sentinal, I guess thats why they are loyal to him now. And I guess the one line where Starscream is like "all hail megatron" is supposed to indicate he's 100% behind Megatron now and not just a spur of the moment thing. And I guess them following his command to destroy the city is why theyre being banished. But like...idk, every other plot point was well established and properly played out, and the whole decepticons thing just didnt really feel like enough, and i kind of feel like it should have been more clearly communicated considering its an entire one side of a two sided war? I feel like we werent shown the high guard doing anything egregiously bad besides attacking people because megatron told them to.

Like, there's nothing in the movie to suggest that Starscream and the High Guard arent still loyal to the Primes. So when Orion comes back as a prime, like a proper prime, with the matrix and everything, which everyone knows will make the energon flow again, I'm surprised Starscream didnt at least try to make excuses or worm his way into avoiding banishment? My headcanon is he wanted to kill Sentinal as bad as Megatron and so when Megatron finally does what he failed to do for 50 cycles, he's like aite im ride or die for this guy. Maybe 50 cycles of living in the wilderness doing nothing but scout and pit fight all day changes a guy and they dont wanna live in a society anymore. Why dont they accept Optimus as the new prime? They helped him and Elita save their friends, and unlike Sentinal Optimus has the actual Matrix this time. Idk mang. Woulda liked a bit more.

Transformers One, not my favorite design for Starscream. The head vents going wide at the bottom look weird to me, and his legs are so long and flat.

The Touchstarved DEMO by @redspringstudio! I had so much fun replaying this DEMO over and over, I truly cannot wait for the full release. The art is gorgeous, the writing is excellent, and I am surprised at how much I really loved each character, I expected to at least hate one or two of them like with My Next Life lol. I highly recommend checking out the DEMO if you're a fan of otome games or gothic stories!

Summary:

I thought when playing more otome games it would be really hard to beat My Next Life, simply because I am a huge fan of the source material that preceded the game. But wow, with the way this game is setting up plotlines, the full version of this game could easily make it onto my top favorite games list. Otome games are all about replayability, and the way just the DEMO is so rich with content and alternating paths makes me so excited and hopeful for the full game's release. I am bummed I got onto the Touchstarved train late and missed the kickstarter, but hopefully a shop will open around release bc I'd kill for an art book. The art is just so gorgeous and I cannot wait to do some studies, especially with color and rendering. Before playing otome games, I like to look at the character profiles beforehand and predict who I'd like and dislike. And I am very delightfully surprised that any initial dislike I had of characters all but vanished because the writing and personalities of these characters were so well made. I thought I was going to hate Leander but he ended up being the character I'm most curious about. Although I would say my least favorite is Kuras simply bc I'm not a fan of romancing doctors, I am still curious about his background story and connection to the others. In other words, great character who is just not my type. I am also delightfully surprised at the "vulgarity" in this game without being overly explicit -- I have grown so tired of how sanitized a lot of games and shows have been that it's always really nice seeing indie companies play by their own rules. I am so glad I stumbled across this game!! At this point I've done every route favorably but haven't tried all the "wrong" options -- more to play whenever I think about how excited I am for the full game! I've also seen the sneak peaks of an upcoming update ^_^. Highly recommend the game!!

Thoughts on the welcome home update because YES. Spoilers below the cut.

That sleep aid pill is called remderem which is almost "remember" but the d would be backwards, and its also almost "murder me" while missing the u. Is this anything? I don't know. Im always looking for names of things in args.

We have seen through two puppets eyes. First it was Wally and his discomfort and/or dissociation, and now it's Eddie's discomfort and/or dissociation. Which is fun because we've heard that Eddie would do crafts for the show and you'd just see his hands so that was a fun touch.

First iteration of the website we had mail letters (Eddie) giving us clues. Second iteration had bugs (Frank?) and active drawings (Wally?) giving us clues. Now we have symbols giving us clues and they remind me of stickers a little bit so possibly a connection to Sally? Who else would give the tiny pictures? Questions questions.

At the end of that commercial before his existential crisis, they say Eddie has been invited and they did his job for him so he could rest. Eddie does not seem happy about them doing his job for him instead of letting him do it himself. I am reminded of how clumsy with the mail he seems to be sometimes and how much work they make him do in the other audio clips. I wonder if he is feeling extremely overwhelmed but also unappreciated and that they can do all this work to help and choose not to most days? Sally insists it was easy to do and Eddie does not sound pleased.

One thing i can't stop thinking about and i have to go back and really re-watch the commercials closely, is Poppy. When they invite Eddie to the party they say everyone is there but there's no Poppy in the picture? And earlier they poured gravy on an ornament that, to me, looked very oddly shaped and almost like meat, and we hear Poppy, but we don't see her. So... a pea on a plate..... "P" on a plate? My brain could be misconstruing but did they eat Poppy and is that what he's actually seeing and is that why it's all red? I'd he seeing the reality beyond the mask? Is it more than a pea?

Eddie says "where?" In his crisis as a response to Frank calling his name. People are talking about this as if he doesn't know where he is. I agree this is a likely idea but what if he's asking where Poppy is? Do we ever actually see her in any of the videos or do we just hear her?

Wally has feelings a lot which is good to confirm he has feelings! Eddie also said he would be happy with an apple every single day and my he is an innocentbautism creature wally agenda is flourishing.

The amount if commercials has me fascinated because people used to do that for TV shows (still do but those earlier type ones welcome home is referencing is spot on) commercials for basically everything is accurate and what is funny is the accuracy of what each person is selling. Howdy with the cigarette commercial- he takes every opportunity to sell you something no matter what even if it's not good for you. Sleepy looking Wally selling you sleeping pills happy with the thought of the dream.

Wally being nervous about getting the holiday correct. Is it because he's never done it or ia Home going to hurt him?

Did home hurt Eddie because he was upset during the party? It sure fucking looks like it with home watching him so intensely. Does the chair have something to do with it?

Eddie's scribbled writing reminds me of the people trying to decipher the code on the safe.

On the secret pages it's signed "-W." But it talks as if it's a human person who watched the show and is working either the WHRP team. It also talks too grown up to be wally. Who is this?? Is it the same person from the terrified scribbles of the hidden page previously? It seems maybe so because of referencing needing the cleanup.

disclaimer: i dont have good memory and for that there is likely some inaccuracy to what i claim, wrong terms, etc. also very out of order but i enjoy rambling

somewhat intentionally vague things i liked about the movie 1. the music was swell -the score as to when the main group was on the surface was cool, when they were going between diff. environments

-the ending scene with Optimus being granted the Matrix had a very fitting background score. + also was surprising fitting with the execution of Sentinel Prime that was also occurring atm

-I am not knowledgeable about music, but I assume synths were used a lot, and they were lovely........

2. The animation for high action scenes -was soooooo amazing! in particular There was a lot of creative liberty taken with how the bots would transform parts of their body to fight. Which had shone in Elita's fighting andd i am unsure beyond that. Airachnid's fighting, using her legs to spin and shred and stab aggressively was great too

also I'm biased towards like. them ripping parts off eachother i.e. the fight between Armada Megatron and Optimus is a good exemplar of this. all the greater to see that again in the fight between TF ONE MegOp in their third forms aaaaaaaaa. Seeing Optimus rip Megatron's tank cannon off, almost oxidize his metal by burning it to shit, and so on, that is WONDERFUL. I cannot recall what Megatron did though of course it involved him trying to explode Optimus' face

-not a fight scene but actiony, the Mecha gore of taut wires just wrenched apart w/ the splitting of Sentinel Prime's torso was delectable ha-ha

3. few minor details

-seeing D-16 wipe the dust off of Orion yayy

-Orion (remember from their first meeting!!!!) knows D-16 is a huge fan of Megatronus and so for him to get that sticker, for him, was very cute and loving of him. what a friend. only made it as horrible to see that sticker used to demean and punish D-16 by Sentinel Prime

-the stylization of optics is LOVELY. their repeating shape of iris is great. the different eyes across the characters = great. the fact that they spin around during high times of emotion is sooooooo -------! great. i loved seeing this in D-16, when Sentinel Prime's treachery was revealed! his optics spun very much which i inference as emotional

the eyelid for optics is not a traditional blink, like a whole eye covering shutter. it looked very unique and complex, and you could really observe the design of it in that close up shot of Elita waking up and i found it very nice

-the way post t-cog Orion Pax leaned down to be on equal height / level / eye contact with his fellow mining buddies was a good display of character. showed his genuine heartfelt intent in connecting with them, helps to trust in the incoming truth! just because he has a t-cog now does not mean he will carry himself as if he were greater than them

4. Sentinel prime was cool

-his con-man shtick and unadulterated "I want power" was refreshing and is further bettered if you take into account his status as an Autobot and previous prime. there should be eviler Autobots in the movies

-i dont understand why he has TFP inspired characters as lackeys but fun

-nod to Bayverse Sentinel Prime with his choice of weapon is good

5. Alpha Trion

It was unexpected to see him have an alt mode that was animal-like. i loved it. he is normally a character i dont think much of in terms of any continuity, so it was nice to see him shined on in that brief time

6. models

-the models for the dilapidated figures of the 13 Primes were soooo goood i am in love with them. i am a big fan of the Transformers, as strong and terrifying as they are, painted so frail and weak when left to the sands of time. the overgrowth, the missing parts of their body. the vines. the moss. Delicious !

-i appreciate that they bothered to model t-cog transformations for background characters at the end, even if they wouldn't have been on the screen that long for TF ONE ^_^ although ofc that may be because they'll be reused in the (hopeful) later movies. im going to say that last sentence a lot. their new forms are also crumbs for fans of those characters

7. that one place the main team encountered on the surface?

-so, there is that portion of the movie where they are trying to get to the coordinates of the matrix. but a Quintesson ship appears

maybe i am being delusional but the area reminded me a bit of the Sea of Rust level in CH 4 of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron so that was pleasant

There are tons of other things in TF ONE that I think were great!!!!! I would go on too long to mention them all. Now here is stuff I think would be better.

-more screentime for the Decepticons would have been nice. yet i presume in the later movies in the trilogy that this will be touched on. given that we GET a trilogy

the high command did not get to do much ( i am bitter that Starscream did pretty much nothing out of this group)

-wish there was furthered display of Cybertronian culture? Say like being taken into a scene where we get to view the exterior and interior of a flying bot's home, or any other type of home. anything. see a higher-caste bot's berth? do they all sleep upright?????! fun

as well as food :] was interesting to see Alpha Trion get fed that little cube of energon, or Orion crashing into that establishment into a pile of energon. but what about if they process energon into any other form? if they drink oil? etc? awww? if they take showers????? idk

itd be funny to see D-16/Orion go to a party lol

-more environments beyond the few on the surface and more plants, animals

-i don't prefer Steve Buscemi's voice for Starscream. i mean, in the credits they had Steve Blum? but he voiced minor characters?? ....bummed they did not ask him to voice ......oh...

-the action of the scenes i praised earlier. however thinking about it again, there is slightly too much going on, too many sparks, too much blur, maybe that is just me, it is hard to parse what is going on during fight scenes sometimes. a little more clarity would be amazing. but again i still loved it and was very excited as i was viewing and didnt care too much

Overall. it is a lot to expect so i understand they couldnt touch on all of this! just a far dream of themes I'll have to collect into a ball from the other outputs of the franchise. I thought it was a pretty good movie in comparison to all preexisting Transformers movies and would pick it over those any day. sorry 1986

TEEHEE hello everyone. Hi. I have been thinking of rewriting this thing here for a few months now because 1) i originally wrote it when they were still fan characters, 2) i changed their identities a little at some point and 3) i wasn't fully happy with it.

Now, after spending weeks rewriting and rethinking it, this thing is done, yippee! yayyyy!

Summary: Klara wakes up with a bad hangover and wonders how she got there. Fun.

No proper warnings except for mentions of alcohol and a character having a hangover. Enjoy 🤍

No matter how much of a morning person she was, Klara had always found waking up hard. The whole idea of getting out from a soft, warm blanket that makes you feel safe? Worst thing ever. And being used to a schedule that requires waking up at around 6 in the morning makes it even worse. The only thing so far that has stopped her from getting used to wake up later is that she's even lazier to change it. And coworkers seem to like it, and she didn't feel like doing something that will make her less 'cool' in their opinion.

On days like these, though? It's even worse. Klara couldn't even remember when she had a hangover worse than this one. Maybe few years ago?

The headache, the awful feel of dry mouth, it wasn't something she missed after starting to drink less - or at least try to.

She groaned slightly and rolled over to the other side, expecting to see her clock, only to stare at a wall. Dark blue wall. Her room's walls were white. And the wall was supposed to be on the other side.

Klara sighed and turned to the other side, noticing a pile of thick books - probably course books, she couldn't really tell due to how dark the corner was - standing next to the bed, like a makeshift nightstand. On top of it was another, smaller book, a pack of meds she didn't recognize, and a little digital alarm clock with a sticker on it. Klara rubbed her eyes, not believing the time she saw.

10:25 just didn't sound like a time she'd wake up at, even with a hangover. She felt sick.

She sat up slowly, trying not to move too fast, and looked around, then at herself. She was still wearing the same clothes as she was wearing yesterday, even had a suit jacket still on. Klara frowned at the darkish red spot on the jacket, realizing it would probably be impossible to get it off. She slowly took it off and leaned on the mattress to carefully put it down on the floor. If it were her bedroom, she'd just probably toss it somewhere. But the idea of throwing it here and accidentally knocking off something from Tobias's weird bookshelf that worked as a wall.

She froze in the middle of sitting back up. No wonder things still looked familiar, it's not the first time she woke up in its flat, considering how many times they would either come her after the library closed or just simply to talk about books, and then realizing that it was too late for her to go home.

But surely she wouldn't be here drunk? Tobias didn't drink and she never felt like doing it while hanging out with it.

Klara reached down to the jacket again and took out her phone. A few messages from Mabel, some awful party photos in the group chat. She pressed on one and zoomed in. She looked awful - and not because of how she actually looked but because of how sad she looked.

The party itself, as she remembered now, was to celebrate some guy's... something. She didn't remember what it was. She didn't care, as she didn't really even know the guy. Besides, based on how he and his apartment looked, he was probably the specific kind of a business major, the really annoying one.

The actual reason she went there because work earlier that day was awful. She really thought it could help her 'relax' after all that.

Klara took a deep breath. She hoped she didn't do anything stupid. Though, knowing herself, she probably did and just had to live with it. She laid back and looked through the other messages.

One of the messages from that night was from Leon, asking where she was. Klara had apparently written, 'Owm to sleeep. wait it's omw. whatever.', which they had acknowledged with a thumbs-up sign.

A bit before that, she had apparently sent a message to Tobias, asking if it could walk her home 'or soemthing'. Of course she asked it, it lives in North Bay, five minute walk from that business guy's apartment. Who am I kidding, I would've asked it even if I were at Cambridge, she thought and looked at its reply. It had just simply said that it would come there as soon as possible.

Klara remembered how it arrived, she was already waiting in the entrance hall, realizing what a bad idea it was to forget to take a coat, and staring at snow through the window. She had never seen snow before, and as far as she knew, it's been a rare occurance for a century, although slowly coming back.

Klara stretched her arms and slowly rose up. She picked up the jacket again, to see if she didn't miss anything else in the pockets, before leaving it on the floor. I'll figure out what to do with it, she thought.

Stepping out into the rest of the room, she raised her hand to block out the sunlight shining into her face, just so it wouldn't worsen her headache. The window was slightly open, letting in the sounds of the street outside - people talking as they pass by the street, laughter, some distant car noises - all pointing out the silence of the flat itself. Klara quickly looked around to see if it would be somewhere, but there was no one there but her.

She did notice a water carafe and a glass on the table, though, and a little sticky note right next to it. She poured herself some water and sat on the chair, reaching for the note. It was light orange, and had "I read it's important to stay hydrated when you have a hangover, so here's some water. Hope you're okay!" written on it, with a blushing smiley face in the end. A smaller text below it said, "I sadly remembered I have an errand to run in the morning and had to leave early. I'll be back somewhwere around 10."

Klara smiled and drank the whole glass and reached for the quilt laying close by on the beanbag, right next to a soft pillow. She hated how this probably meant that it chose to sleep there. If it slept at all. She wished it was here, so she could talk to it, thank it, maybe even-

She shook her vesd to get the thought out of her brain and wrapped the quilt around herself. She leaned on the table, trying her best to ignore her headache and her thoughts telling her how she alone got herself into this situation. She knew that, she didn't disagree. But she didn't want to feel so guilty about it, either.

Klara snapped out of her thoughts as she heard the door open. She quickly got up and leaned on the wall, slightly peeking from behind it, just in case it was some uninvited guest. A typical work related reaction she has somehow adopted into her free time, too.

Instead of a possible threat, it was Tobias, slowly taking off its coat and stopping by the mirror to slightly fix its hair. It picked up a carton bag slowly, trying hard not to be too noisy, and silently wincing at each sound it made. Klara shook her head and walked out from behind the wall. "Hey, what do you have there?"

Tobias raised its head at the voice, a slightly surprised look on its face, yet a smile clearly appearing on it. "Uh, hey! I, um... breakfast. I got breakfast," it said and checked into the bag, "Bagels and coffee, specifically. I got decaf, iced one. Oh, and some cookies, additionally to some groceries. And, um-" it paused and cleared its throat. "Sorry, I forgot that you probably have a headache right now and got a bit excited..."

"That's alright, don't worry," she smiled and watched as it walked to the table and started taking everything out of the bag, "What's this, um, errand you had?"

"I needed to pick up some paperwork from the course I'm TAing."

"Are you saying that you went to Medford and back...?"

"Uh, um, yeah!" Tobias smirked and took a sip from its latte, "By the way, hope you're feeling better right now. You didn't really seen that well at night and, well..."

"'Well', what?"

"You kind of just fell asleep while talking. Scared me a bit, to be honest, I checked several times during the night, poking your shoulder, to see that you're, well, sleeping and not, you know, um," it stopped and smirked, "You seemed very annoyed every time, complaining about it, especially during the last time."

Klara took the iced coffee in her hands. "I don't remember any of that, to be honest... Or what happened before I fell asleep."

"Ah, that's totally fine, Klara, things like that happen sometimes. I guess," it looked at her face, and frowned slightly, probably noticing Klara's confused face, "Um, haven't had hangovers from alcohol like, ever, but boy I think I still don't really remember some things about Florida, due to, um, other substances. But I'm sure you'll remember everything at some point," it added quickly.

"Uh-huh," she leaned on the table and sipped her coffee. "What do you mean by 'everything', by the way? I, um, didn't do anything weird yesterday, did I?"

"Weird? No, not really. Except that, well, you somehow got to this, um, event of yours without a coat. And it was snowing outside when you walked out. Not a really smart outfit choice but that happens sometimes."

"Leon drove us there."

"Ah, that makes sense. But, um, nothing else that can be deemed as 'weird'!"

Klara sighed. "That sounds like I did something."

"Um. You did. But, well, I don't know how to say it? And you said you want to talk about it later once you're up to it," It sat completely still for a moment, before placing its hands on the table and slightly leaned forward. "You, um, kissed me. On lips. Then told me my face looks very kissable."

"Wha-" Klara began, then stopped and covered her face with her hands, "Toby, how is that not weird according to you?"

"I don't know honestly. I'd rather say it's surprising. And, um, cute."

"Are you serious right now?"

"Yeah! You also talked about how you wanted to do it for a while now. And how you, um, think about me, like, a lot and just never want to bring it up. To which I then replied that I do feel the same way, but, well, considering how you were doing at the moment, wouldn't it be logical to, well, go to sleep first and wait until you feel better. You seemed to agree and just went to sit on the bed as I went to get some water for you, only to see that you fell asleep when I returned to you."

Klara took a deep breath. "God, this is embarassing. I'm never drinking again."

"It wasn't that bad, honestly, it-"

"But it was! I, um," she paused, looking for a proper way to say what she wanted, "I don't think I was, um, ever going to act on it, to be honest. I came here thinking that I'll fully concentrate on work and getting the degree I want, and, um, won't even consider a relationship... Ever. Not after the previous one, it was, um, I didn't want to ever be so...vulnerable?"

"Klara, I-"

"But then Leon brought you and, well, after a while I just somehow realized that I'm having feelings again and I just hated myself for that, for breaking a promise I myself had given to me. Hate that always seemed to vanish once I catched your glance, or saw your smile, and after a while it turned into fear. Not a fear of the same thing happening again, but more like-"

"Fear of losing someone important to you if you tell the truth?" Tobias finished the sentence, and reached its hand to touch hers as she nodded. "I, um, I have the same fear."

Klara moved her other hand closer, to hold its, as she murmured, "I'm afraid of ruining the friendship we have. I think I've been afraid that, uh, even if you did feel the same, something could've always happened and, well, there really is no coming back to where we were."

"I think there would always be a way. And it's not like our friendship ends if we take our relationship to a new level, so if it won't work out, we could always go back, if we wanted."

Klara looked at it for a moment, then looked down at their hands, fingers intergwined, Tobias's thumb gently stroking the side of her hand. "And what if it works out?" She asked, glancing back at its face.

Tobias's smile appeared again, slowly, as it said softly, "God, I hope it will."

1. since john tries to stay away from tech as much as possible, i think it would be funny to see what would happen if he got his hands on like a secondhand e-reader or laptop and what it would look like if he tried to use it. it would also be cool to see if or what kind of stickers he would use to decorate it.

2. i know it’s kind of a difficult topic. but since i’ve been reading your comic, I think the “Creaky” storyline is one of my favorites. Being able to escape a difficult upbringing and being able to find solace and comfort in found family. I’ve imagined that with the help of his newfound friends, John would go back to his father’s house and take back some of his most prized possessions because I think John would be the type of person that would value things and attach those objects to memories of people. I think it would be fun to see how John adapted to a new environment and being able to live freely (full-time) and thrift for clothes and other things. I think it would be interesting to see his thoughts of when he entered his first apartment and see how he decorated it and see how it has evolved into the glimpses that we’ve seen.

hahaha while i understand what you're asking here, he would of course one hundred percent fumble it, the last thing he had was a flip phone from the early 2000's when he was in highschool, so of course he wouldnt be good with laptops or anything. as far as an e-reader goes, john is severely dyslexic (undiagnosed, so untreated) and reading is already a huge struggle, which is why he uses the walkman and listens to audio books. the truth is, were he to get his hands on these things, he simply wouldnt use them. but its fun to imagine him like my 80 year old dad doing the ol' point and shoot typing style with two fingers! Caro and Maddie show him things on their phone and on the internet all the time anyway, so hes not missing the good memes ha! Creaky is also my fave storyline, I'm so glad you're enjoying it! To answer your first question, no, he wouldn't actually go to his dads at any point, and even if he did, none of his stuff would still exist sadly. on a brighter note, he DOES get to retrieve some of his old things, either after hooking back up with Caro (who has his battle jacket, fuck belt and a few other things) and because his Highschool pals Georgie and Dee would totally have a ton of his stuff in the back of Dee's van, so he'd get his walkman, some clothes, his cross earrings that belonged to his mom, and a few other precious things, and you are right, he does connect objects to people. His biggest problem is not remembering much about what some of those connections were. Another factor here is the fact that there is a protection order between he and his ad put in place by Maddie's stepdad Dr Parker, John's dad isnt allowed within a certain amount of distance to John so, going to his house wouldnt be allowed. Even with his friends (in Seemingly Dark, the Fenris chapter) facing down with his father is almost impossible because of his fear and trauma. There will be more about that in the future! on the second note, im actually in process of turning Creaky into a stand-alone book! Which is why I haven't drawn anything here in reply to Johns reactions to new places, new friends and new environments, its all things I want to explore more in depth in the new version of my fave story line. <3 Heres links to some of the progress on the New Creaky! and here!

Do you like painting, drawing or just doodling? She gave him a gift set with 12 colors of those colorful glitter pens and it was so adorable.

If you like writing a diary to express yourself I'm sure she would buy you a new one whenever the previous one was full.

Hot and relaxing baths??? It's a complete yes for this girl, she will reserve God's favorite bath products for you, she can come out and let you have fun or just sit on the toilet seat and talk to you quietly or just be silent (for you two, it's not something weird, it's just an intimate and affectionate way of showing how much she cares for you). Now if you ask her to take a shower with you, this girl will triple her efforts, washing your hair, rubbing and massaging your back, whispering words of affirmation in your ear and hugging you affectionately.

She is willing to accompany you and participate in any activity that helps you cope, she just wants you to be well, so: running, dancing, tearing something or screaming, all of this is a big yes for this girl, anything that can help you in a healthy way she would automatically accept.
